# Set up your machine

By the end of this guide, you'll have the command-line tools you need to work with the Golden Path installed on your machine.

It covers 9 short pages, one per tool. Each page is self-contained, so you can install them in any order or skip the ones you already have.

## Tools

The [Homebrew](<https://brew.sh/>) package manager is the recommended tool for installing software. Besides macOS, Homebrew also works on [Linux and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)](<https://docs.brew.sh/Homebrew-on-Linux>).
